    2002

  • 30 Sep 2002: For those interested, I've added my Useless Update Page to my San Diego Comic-Con section. It's basically a what's new page for the Comic-con stuff.
  • 27 May 2002: More hard work under the belt. I've finally made a script that will allow me to directly edit a page and an image when anyone fills out the the update form that's next to my Comic-Con pictures. Thank you to everyone who's ever sent me info and then was thoroughly disgusted with me for never doing anything about it. Luckily, I've saved all of this info, and am now going through it all and editing my pages with it.
  • 2 May 2002: I've just done a major redesign on my site. I've completely removed the frames setup, since no one ever used that except to remove frames (and a couple times to try and get .passwd files). Everything is now setup as big tables, with a table of contents on the left side on every page. I've also (FINALLY) gotten my 2001 Comic-Con pictures up.

Now the bad news. In the redesign, I've renamed a lot of directories, so this will break a lot of links coming from other websites. This is INTENTIONAL. Unfortunately, people have been putting my pictures on their own websites and on message boards, usually inlining the pictures directly, so the bandwidth for their sites comes out of my pocket. Anyone who does this, does so at their own risk, for I'll redirect the such images to something nasty. I've now set my robots.txt file to exclude the various imaging spiders, so my pictures won't appear on Google, Altavista and such. This will cut down on my bandwith usage, as well as making it harder for people to steal my images.

Anyway, I've put a lot of hard work into my site in the past couple months, and hopefully, I'll be able to get the 2002 Comic-Con pictures up a lot faster.

  • 16 February 2002: Yes, I've let a whole year go by and only made one update, as well as taking a shamefully long time to put my pictures up. Well, after banging my head against windows for way to long, I was able to transfer my poor dying Amiga file into a new, speedy Amithlon[ Link Online ] . I'm now running scripts that make up my website in 5-10 minutes, rather than the half hour to hour or more that it used to take.

    2001

  • 3 June 2001: I've been making some all around changes in the site. Now, my section of the site can be reached through http://CW.EvilGeniuses.org/ and the Comic-con section is directly reached through http//SDCC.EvilGeniuses.org/. This requires some major changes in some of my HTML.

    2000

  • 2 November 2000: Adding a new page About Crystal Works. This is the page that will have detail various stuff about my site.
  • 9 September 2000: I'm forgetting to update this page, shame on me. All my Comic-con pix are up, as well as some more humor. Working with PHP[ Link Online ] , I'm catching broken links within a couple of days, and redirecting moved files to the correct pages. Now, if I can just figure out what the hell Hubater Search Engine is doing looking for files that have never existed, like Mavica/Problems.html</Gallery.html. This stupid engine is randomly trying to find files by mixing and matching, and then throws in a few extra characters just for the fun of it!!
  • 6 August 2000: I'm going through some old e-mails, and adding some stuff to the humor section and also re-arranging it a bit, so there might end up being some 404's there for awhile. I'm also starting to get some Comic-con pix up. So far I've got some pix up for Pre-Con, Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3. I've got quite a bit of pictures from the Masquerade, so it'll take me a while to get those up. Then there's a few pictures for Day 4, but not many.
  • 14 July 2000: Darva Conger was signing autographs in Oceanside, so I took a ride over and took some pictures.
  • 21 June 2000: A couple quicky IFX scripts to help with the loading of files with long names.
  • 15 Apr 2000: Testing out a Site Map. It's not too exciting to look at and still has a few bugs, but it's a start.
  • 8 Apr 2000: I finally finished putting up the rest of the Comic Con pictures and since the Masquerade pages were getting to big, I split it into two pages.
  • 6 Jan 2000: Well, it's about time. I made it my New Year's Resolution to finish the 1998 San Diego Comic-Con webcast I started, well, back in 1998. It's a collection of the pictures I took during that Con. And while I was at it, I put up my 1999 San Diego Comic-Con Webcast. Ok, almost all of it. It's still missing some Day 3 and all of the Day 4 pictures, but at least I'm on the way to getting them up.
  • 28 Dec 1999: It's been a long time since I've updated. I've added a Feedback page. I've also just about finished rewriting all my pages to take advantage of HSC[ Link Online ] , which stands for Html Sucks Completely. It's an HTML pre-processor, which will run various macros, and allow me to make sweeping changes, if need be.
  • 15 Feb 1999: Finished an arexx script to split gif animations for ImageFX. While it's been outdated by IFX 4, it still works great on older versions.
  • 16 Jan 1999: Added search feature to the San Diego Comic-Con Guest List. It's only had minimal testing at the moment, but it's looking good.
  • 12 Jan 1999: Officially opening Crystal Works at www.EvilGeniuses.org. This marks one more month of remaining open at Illuminati Online. They've been good, but here it's better! Removed Webtracker counter.

1998

  • 09 Oct 1998: Created a new transfer animation for AWeb and IBrowse out of the famous Dancing Baby avi. You'll find it here
  • 10 Aug 1998: Added a San Diego Comic-Con International page, and compiled my various previous page counters together into a single counter run from my site (finally!). I removed my Sounds page, because I have never found time to create it. There are still going to be some links to it, but they'll slowly disappear. Also, figured out some of the problems I was having with using my Mavica camera and my Amiga, so the Problems using the Amiga and the Sony Mavica page got an update.
  • 16 Apr 1998: Put up a quicky creation of mine in the Picture Gallery (since deleted).
  • 07 Apr 1998: Added an ARexx scripts: MavicaCopy.rexx for use with the Sony Mavica digital camera.
  • 17 Feb 1998: Created an Arexx script to split up animated gifs. Its at my GifSplit.rexx page.
  • 25 Jan 1998: Starting to put up some pictures in the Poor Picture Gallery, starting to fix up the Problems using the Amiga and the Sony Mavica page, added links to the Mavica Link Page and then had to fix the same page (forgot TARGET="_top", silly me).
  • 14 Jan 1998: Over the weekend, I went to the Winter CES in Las Vegas, so I had to put up a new Picture Gallery for it.
  • 02 Jan 1998: I just bought a Sony Digital Mavica camera, so I put up a page having to do with my experiences using it and my Amiga together. It's extremely rough at the moment, but that should change.

1997

  • 25 Dec 1997: Merry Christmas. Expanded the Internet Humor sections. Still a little rough. Took most of the jokes and just put a HTML container around them.
  • 16 Dec 1997: Finally created some graphics for the graphical menu I wanted.
  • 05 Dec 1997: Things have been busy. Currently I'm in the process of moving everything over to my new site at Illuminati Online[ Link Online ] . My local provider never gave me enough room, and Geocities has started that forced advertising thing of theirs, so it was time for change. Currently removing all links to Geocities.
  • 22 Sep 1997: Changed frames a bit, made it a bit more no-frames friendly, fixed up the table of contents, and added my Earthquake Retrofit icon.
  • 14 Sep 1997: Changed to a Webtracker counter.
  • 20 Aug 1997: Time for a total revamp. Changed to a FRAMES setup, but it should still work with non-frames capable browsers.
  • 11 Jul 1997: What's New? My computer (just about). Check out my new setup.
  • 30 Jun 1997: Added some more to my dictionary.
  • 17 Jun 1997: Link my offical logo's with the following code:
    [ Crystal Works ]
    <IMG SRC = "http://images.evilgeniuses.org/CWLogo_Sm.Gif">

    for the animated logo.

    [CW Logo Static]

    <IMG SRC = "http://images.evilgeniuses.org/CWLogo_Sm_St.Gif">

for the static logo. Add the Width & Height codes at your own risk, 'cause this might change in the future. The current dimentions are 143x35.
  • 17 Jun 1997: Fiddled with various HTML sources. Merged my Friends on the web page with the normal links page.
  • 23 Apr 1997: Added some new SD links. Changed the raw quotes & ampersands to the proper HTML entities. Also fixed the entities that where there. Always wondered why it showed up wrong with lynx :^)
  • 18 Apr 1997: Fiddled with upload script. Fixed a couple of bugs. Quote pages is now created locally, and then calls the upload script, so anytime I go online, any changes to my page are uploaded.
  • 01 Apr 1997: Added What's New link to most pages. Updated copyright (big wow).
  • 01 Apr 1997: New, smaller logo's, to be used as links from other pages.
  • 01 Apr 1997: Upload script. Using Arexx, I can now surf my page locally, then upload any files that have been changed. Arexx will make the appropriate changes to any "file://localhost/" references and insert the date of upload. No bugs seen yet, but it could use some streamlining. I plan on making this a real program with C, but then, I plan a lot of things :^)
