About Crystal Works

Crystal Works is my section of the EvilGeniuses.org website. It's where I play with things like Php[ Link Online ] , post my camera pictures, and do other web stuff.

How this site is created

This site was originally created on my Amiga 2000 (thanks Paul[ Link Online ] ), which currently is setup as follows:
  • Phase 5 Blizzard 2060 w/ 64 megs ram
  • Phase 5 Cybervision 64/3d
  • 4.5 Gig Quantum HD running the Smart Filesystem[ Link Online ] .
  • a Teac 12x/4x CD-R
  • an Plextor Ultraplex 32x external CD-ROM
  • a HP Scanjet 4p
  • a IOmega Zip drive
  • a GVP I/O Extender
  • a Best Data Smart One 33.6 FLX modem
  • VLAB Y/C
  • an Epson Stylus 600
but is now created on my much faster Amithlon[ Link Online ] . I used some of the following software:
  • Miami[ Link Online ] (Point & Click Internet for the Amiga, time to trash AmiTCP)
  • FTPMount (allows me to edit my site as if it was a part of my Amiga)
  • ARexx (Some pages completely made with ARexx)
  • AWeb-II[ Link Online ]
  • ImageFX[ Link Online ] . Very powerful. A really good buy.
  • HSC[ Link Online ] which stands for HTML Sucks Completely. A really powerful HTML preprocessor.

Mavica

I have a Sony Digital Mavica camera. I previous owned an FD-7 (that's 7, not 71, 72, or 73), but I sold that and bought the FD-91. Now, I've gone out and bought an FD-CD1000, which is really great, and even more overpriced :^). But the ability to take a large number of pictures without having to drag a laptop around to clear a ram card is worth it.

Copyright

Except where otherwise noted, all pictures and content of this site is copyright © by Bryan K. Williams, not in the public domain and cannot be used without my permission.

Having said that, I am quite free with my permission for non-commercial purposes. You can find one of my pictures at IKV Stranglehold[ Link Online ] and another somewhere on The Chase Masterson Official Fan Club[ Link Offline ] . Wil Wheaton[ Link Online ] liked my picture so much it now shows up in the upper left corner of his website.

If you'd like to use a picture or other tidbit, just ask me. Also, if you link to my site, let me know, and I'll probably reciprocate.

On the other hand, do NOT directly link to my images. Please link to the page it appears on. Nearly every image has a <A NAME="position> anchor associated with it, so you can link people directly to it's place on the page by adding "#position" to the end of the link. If you directly inline one of my pictures, you'll find a couple days later that it's been replaced by a warning picture, or worse, gay pr0n. I love doing that to people's personal pages!

There's a good guide to Linking Etiquette[ Link Online ] at Link Openly[ Link Online ] .

San Diego Comic-Con, International

I am not affiliated with the San Diego Comic-Con InternationalUnknown and I'm not in contact with any of the people named on my site. I'm just a fan of the convention. I've been going there since 1989 even though I haven't collected comics since 1991. I just enjoy it a lot and like to collect informantion about it. Most of the information here has been taken from the various program booklets, and my own personal experience. It is in no way to be considered accurate, or complete.

About External Links

All links to sites out of the Evil Geniuses.org domain are checked on a weekly basis. While not complete, eventually, all links will give an indicator as to the currently known status of that site.

Links were last checked on 27 Apr 2006

The indicators are:

  • Online [ Link Online ]: When last checked, this site came back as a currently online site.
  • Offline [ Link Offline ]: When last checked, this site either responded as 404: file not found, or failed a DNS lookup. It this continues in four weekly checks, this link will probably be removed.
  • Dusty: This site hasn't been updated in 6 months to 1 year. This can be slightly misleading, since in most cases I'll link to a main page of a site, which may not change much, while the interior of the site might be quite active.
  • Moldy: Same as Dusty, except it hasn't been changed in over a year. Also read note attached to Dusty.
  • Unknown: For some reason, the status of this link is unknown. Most likely, it is a new link that has not been checked yet.
