Overview

Most of these pictures where taken with my old Mavica FD-7, which has since been replaced. Much of the info doesn't apply to the newer mavica's.

Bad uses of FRAME mode

[IMAGE] Here's a flag bearer from the West Jordan High School Marching Band out of West Jordan, Utah. She wasn't moving very fast, but between using the zoom, my unsteady hand, and her movement, you can see the difference between the two fields as the picture was taken. Notice that the people in the background came out fair (not great, but fair), but the flags show that there was quite a bit of movement.

Since the newer Mavica's have better imaging ability, you may not even know what I'm talking about when I mention FRAME mode. That's ok, your better off not knowing.

The legendary Super-Nova flash

[IMAGE] [IMAGE] This set of pictures was taken in my kitchen. The first is an example of the Super-Nova power of the flash on the camera. On the second photo, I took the sticky section of a Post-it note and placed that over the flash.

Dark pictures

[Taylor Wane Dark] [Taylor Wane Adjusted] Sometimes the pictures can come out too dark. This is less of a worry than the overexposure of that supernova flash, because a few seconds of adjustments can fix the picture right up. Here I just adjusted the GAMMA of the picture in ImageFX (an Amiga program), just to make it look better. No attempts to make it perfect, just a quick adjustment.
