All these pictures where taken in Field mode. Not having really used the camera before this point, I felt that it was better to be safe than sorry. On some pictures you can tell that this was the case. I tried a couple of Frame mode pictures at the end. Definetely not for parade use.

At the parade, I got as close as I could, but there where still people in front of me. I had previously disliked the idea of the LCD screen, but this situation convinced me of it's worth. Even though I'm fairly tall (6'3"), with a viewfinder, I still would've had more heads in the pictures than I did. I could hold the camera another half-foot above my eyes and work the camera from there.

Nearly all the pictures here where taken using the zoom. I was about 100 feet or so away from the people in the parade.

These are the Brigham Young Cougarettes. They didn't actually march in the parade. At their spot in the parade, they just came out in front of the stands and did their routine.

There was a couple of Prowlers at the parade.

The Toys R Us float was designed by a little girl who won a contest. I had heard about this the night before the parade, so this is basically what inspired me to head out to see it.

Just some random tumblers. I couldn't get a really good shot of them, because every time I tried, they had just finished a tumble, and I had to wait for the camera to finish writing the first picture to the disk.
